Field Training Day and Wire Walk
Saturday and Sunday 14 and 15th May saw our annual Field Training day held at Tarndair HQ, North Norfolk, perfectly hosted (as usual by) David and Jane Barker. Over twenty dogs and their families attended from the Leiborschy and Tarndair families , many of them under one year old.
This year we were delighted and honoured to welcome Trevor and Barbara Rigby, both highly respected in the competitive world of working and showing. They were generous with the expertise, experience and knowledge during the working training in the morning and the Working Tests and Conformation assessments in the afternoon and to have their input made this a very special event. Much as this week end is for Leiborschy and Tarndair offspring the breed benefited with the collection of more than a dozen dna samples being sent to the breed bank at the Animal Health trust.
Sam with Marci won the adult working test, Charlie with Boadie, the Puppy Test and Philip with Dexter won the timed scurry. Grateful thanks go to Kev, Joan, Andy, David and Trevor, our judges for the working tests and to Barbara for her written assessments and verbal encouragement to our showers, some of them first timers in the ring.
Sunday saw us gather at Wells Next the Sea for our annual walk, there is no better site than a whole host of Wires behaving themselves impeccably on the beach watched by stunned onlookers.
