If you have
arrived here looking for a well bred, well socialised HWV pup you're in the
very best place. You need look no further. Diane is the best at all she does for
her dogs and their families. We watched Diane and her pack from a distance for a
few years dipping in and out of the web page (lots of information and great pics),
as we already had our two much loved Labradoodles. When we lost our beloved
Buster we took our time before approaching Diane to see if we could visit. We
were lucky to make contact just before there was a Leiborschy get together. We
were able to meet with many of Diane's dogs from previous litters (from pups to
veterans) and chat to their lovely owners, some had made long journeys to get
there. We left knowing that we would be approaching Diane in order to persuade
her to let us have one of her pups. There were lots of emails between us and we
visited with Diane at her home to meet with all her pack. Lots of chatting,
afternoon tea and an amazing 4 hours later we were so delighted to be given the
news we were on the next pup list. We then had access to the extended family on
Facebook. A great supportive group who shared in the Rathes pregnancy and birth,
what excitement for everyone. We cannot say how much our Jussi (Bane if you are
looking at the litter page) means to us. We are very privileged to be owned by
him. He is a gentle, smart, funny and a much admired young man. Also ,like his
mum, he is trying to develop a talent for dancing on tables Diane!!! We adore
him and can't remember what life was like before Jussi! Our labradoodle Sally
loves her little brother too. We are now enjoying ring craft classes for dog
showing, new to both of us, as well as dog training. Jusssi has completed puppy
classes, just graduated from a companion dog class and is now on an intermediate
companion dog course (gun dog training soon). Diane is always there to give
great advice, and is always there to answer any questions you may have at any
time. We look forward to greeting you on Facebook and sharing in your excitement
when your new family member arrives.

I am the proud owner of two Leiborschy HWHV, Ruby who is
six and 7 month old Martha. The first time I met Diane I quickly realised It
wasn’t going to be a case of handing over the money and buying a puppy, Diane
almost gave you the third degree, she certainly wasn’t just going to hand over
her precious puppies to anyone! It was quite an experience but what you have to
realise about Diane is how deeply passionate she is about her dogs and where
they end up. The second time around is easier!
When you pick up your puppy you are sat down and literally given a full manual
of do’s and don’t, gosh how helpful that manual has proved to be. Diane is also
at the end of the phone anytime if you need advice. The care and commitment
Diane gives her dogs is second to none, in fact you would be hard pressed to
find a better breeder.
I have the most wonderful two girls, both the most loving, easy to train dogs I
have ever owned and it is down to Diane who gave them the confidence and care in
their first precious 8 weeks of their lives..
Once a Leiborschy owner, always a Leiborschy owner.

It was an extremely fortunate day when we discovered Leiborschy. We had been researching breeds in general and had decided that ‘wires’ were definitely for us.
I had contacted various breeders to no avail when, on closer inspection of the map, I discovered that there was a breeder virtually on our doorstep – albeit 20 minutes away!
Many emails and phone calls later (Diane probably thought I was a real pest) we had the opportunity to visit HQ. There was no doubt that having some wires greet you, and approve of you, the realisation is that they are a very special breed, and in finally meeting Diane, we had found a breeder with a family oftruly remarkable dogs of a range of ages and personalities. We were well and truly hooked.
Two hours after entering HQ we were almost there! We had the privilege to have been vetted and approved judged to be suitable, caring and committed to be allowed to be the custodians of a fabulous Leiborschy Wire and join the Leiborschy Family. This left us with a real sense of having achieved something rather special.
We cheekily visited again just after the puppies were born (ostensibly to take Jante a present) this was a real privilege – wriggling bodies, eyes closed, suckling, all totally adorable. This was not the time to make a choice! However, our son had already made up his mind – Little Bluey due to the colour of the ribbon/cord around his neck.
Finally, the day to make a decision arrived.Having been open-minded, but preferring a male – we had choices and being outdoor people, we were going to have a lifestyle that suited the needs of an active, energetic dog, our son was adamant, it had to be ‘Little Bluey’ or Larkspur the litter name he was given by Diane.
We are now the proud and privileged owners of Leiborschy Theo, now a handsome and loving, energetic 6 months old 'Rathes' pup. We are extremely proud of him, we are constantly stopped when out and about, he is admired by so many people. We have worked hard to continue the priceless socialisation and training Diane provided for him and his brothers and sisters. He continues to be outgoing, fun, fabulous, taking everything in his stride from dressage events, trips in the lorry, journeys to Norfolk, the beach, pub lunches, Burghley even ‘fun’ dog shows! We didn’t intend to show him but …
Leiborschy puppies go out, very well equipped for whatever their life’s journey holds. Diane’s dedication produces well-adjusted, fantastic examples of Wirehaired Vizslas. We cannot think of a breeder who puts in so much care for her dogs, her careful breeding programme and her owners and we feel truly lucky for the day that we discovered Leiborschy.”

I was first recommended Diane as a breeder on a dog forum, I had made a comment that I would like a Vizsla ( smooth ) some day, another member suggested I had a look at the HWV as an alternative and she knew a fantastic breeder. So I did a bit of searching on t'internet and holy moley ! I was smitten !, rough no nonsense good looks, sensible size, likes cuddles and easy to train ( the dogs, not Diane.....although...lol ).
My first contact with Diane was by email where we sounded each other out, then a phone call, I say phone call but it was an initial interview that took two hours ( I've had job interviews that weren't that long ! ) we weren't in the market at that point for another dog as our beloved SBT Daisy was not dog friendly but I was keen to get to know Diane and get a real feel for the breed and her dogs, so we were invited down to Leib HQ to meet each other and of course the dogs.
On arrival we had the warmest welcome from both Diane and one of the happiest packs of dogs I've ever met, there was barking and bouncing, lots of dog kissing and general wirey nonsense.
After a lovely day ( we were both surprised we'd been there five hours !) talking dog and finding Diane and I had very similar views on all things canine , we were accepted into the silver book ! wooooohoooo !, we both left on cloud 9 imaging the day when we had a Leib of our very own.
I can't emphasise enough, how good Diane is as both a breeder and at sussing people out, don't expect to have a, buy puppy and leave, experience, once your accepted into the fold so to speak, your part of the Leib family and will not only have Diane's expert help but that of other Leib owners for the whole of your puppy's life.
Skip forward three years during which time I'd send Diane the odd email just to keep up to date with all the action, our dear old girl Daisy died very suddenly at 13 years, I sent off a very tearful email to Diane telling her we'd be ready for a puppy when ever an available litter was planned, In the mean time, we arranged another visit just to remind ourselves what a great breed the HWV was and to make absolutely sure this was the breed and breeder for us, we weren't disappointed and went on the list from the next litter which would be spring the following year.
After what felt like the longest time ever, made longer by having no dog, although our three cats kept us from being to morose, the litter was born on April the seventh, with one wee scone arriving on the following day, that was a very exciting time, all us PIW's were bombarding Diane for updates, which she juggled with admirably, partly fuelled by Tangtastic Haribo's and chocolate !.
Then came the photo's, in the first week I knew which puppy I longed for, from the first moment I saw his chunky big bum, I knew he was the one for me, Heath was his litter name, Leiborschy Maverick Heath is his posh Sunday name, but we called him Kipling, Kip for short.
What can I say about this boy, to quote Paulo Nuttini, he's " sunshine on a drip " he's by far the funniest, easiest, most well adjusted puppy we've ever had, Diane goes to extraordinary lengths to give the puppies enriching experiences while they are with her, nothing is overlooked.
Kip is adored and admired by everyone who meets him, he may not look like your typical HWV, but if personality was measured in wealth, he'd be the richest wee surfer dude on the planet. I always joke that everything Kip meets is " his new bestest ever friend " but it's actually true, he loves the world and everything in it ( apart from getting his beard washed, he's planning on getting a petition started to have that banned ) he's been great with my cats, who quite frankly didn't roll out the red carpet on his arrival ( miserable gits ) but we're getting there, Kip has such a lovely nature that even if he chases them, he only does it out of playfulness and only for a few steps.
If there was any doubt left as to a recommendation after all my waffling, all I can say is, I wouldn't go past Diane and I fully expect to be asking about another puppy in a few years time.

We are the proud and privileged owners (or perhaps borrowers is the correct term) of Leiborschy Rufus, currently a handsome and loving, gentle 6 month old 'Sprocket litter' pup. We are proud of this fine specimen of his breed (we are constantly stopped when walking Rufus whilst people adore and admire him) and privileged to have been approved and deemed to be suitable, responsible, sensible, experienced, caring and committed enough to be allowed to borrow one of Diane's fabulous Wires and join the Leiborschy Family - trust me, no easy achievement!
We found Leiborschy Wires as a result of searching HWV breeder websites. The dedication and effort put into the website alone was impressive at first read, then when we telephoned, presented our credentials via email, met and visited Diane at Leiborschy HQ for our 'interview' as possible/to be considered, new puppy parents, we were absolutely overwhelmed by their professional high standards and total love and dedication to their dogs and this breed. They go way, way beyond any breeder's responsibilities that myself or my dog owning family or friends have ever experienced (one of my daughter's is a dog groomer in contact with a wide range of breeds and owners) because in addition to breeding healthy pups, they also importantly give the growing and developing puppies such a wide range of experiences during the formative first 8 weeks of their lives. Some examples: Our 8 week old pup came home with us and could already 'sit', 'come' and 'pee' when asked! For the less experienced dog owners out there believe me, this is not usual - it is very unusual. We collected him in October and when he was just ten weeks old fireworks were raining down on our home during Diwali and Nov 5th celebrations - our pup did not take any notice whatsoever because he had been exposed to every day life noises and desensitized as a result of listening to a CD for the first 8 weeks of his little life. We live in London and sirens, traffic, hustle and bustle do not startle him. He had already been trained to use a 'pee pen' and because we closely followed Diane's advice, he had only 4 'accidents' indoors (our fault: lack of attention).
Diane advised us regarding the choice of our pup: gender and personality to compliment our lifestyle (but it's the other way round with our Rufus) and has always been 'at the end of the phone' to help and further support us, with the best interests of pup and successful relationships foremost in her heart, this in addition to the insightful and informative pack we were given.
Diane taught us about the breed as I had no previous experience of the gundog group anyway, but I had met several Wires and fallen in love with them. I have gone through a huge learning curve in a short time and truly understand that they are strong but gentle, highly intelligent and quick to learn, loving but sensitive and need love, patience, mental stimulation, physical exercise, companionship and commitment and should never be underestimated!
We feel truly blessed to have found the Leiborschy Family and are very clear that we will only ever keep our dog, subject to maintaining the Leiborschy and associated 'Family Group' very high standards and expectations.
We are confident to bet that you will not find another breeder of this amazing and remarkable calibre!
Thank you Diane for our wonderful pup who is such a treasured member of our family.

We came to a decision to make Hungarian wirehaired vizslas part of our lives during an enforced 5 year period without a dog. Our lifestyles meant it wasn’t possible. I was completing my PhD, spending most of my time travelling (coincidentally working in Hungary) and Eric was also studying / working away from home. These barren years gave us plenty time to reflect on what choice we might make for our next dog. I had many gundogs in my family; I grew up with an Irish setter, relatives had spaniels and weimaraners. Being outdoor people, we were going to have a lifestyle that suited the needs of an active, energetic gundog.
We had always admired smooth vizslas, but weren’t aware of HWV until we happened to catch a rare breed focus piece on Crufts on TV featuring HWV. The handsome good looks, breed standard and above all, the described personalities of wires really appealed and we knew we had found a breed that was probably the one for us.
Much research followed and we contacted and spoke to a few breeders before narrowing our search to a couple who we visited to meet some wires. One of these breeders was Diane. There was no doubt having met some wires, they are a very special breed, and in meeting Diane, we had found a special breeder with such remarkable and endearing dogs. We were smitten.
We took the opportunity to ask Diane lots of questions about wires, and Diane vetted us too, asking plenty questions about our circumstances and lifestyle to assess our suitability to be owners of one of her pups. We were only too happy to answer her questions and it was reassuring to know that she placed such high importance on getting the best homes for her pups. Fortunately, Diane decided we would be up to scratch as a future Leiborschy wire family, when the time was right for us to have a dog again.
In 2006, that time arrived and we contacted Diane and went on her ‘Puppy in Waiting’ (PIW) list. Our beautiful boy Hector joined us at the end of the year. Delighted with our experience with him, we returned to Diane a couple of years later and we were joined by our fabulous Leiborschy boy, Darwin. The boys enjoyed many happy, healthy years together. Throughout their lives Diane was there if we ever needed advice and support, including when we lost our beloved Hector.
As the breed becomes ever more popular, one needs to be ever more discerning about breeder choice. The welfare, health and genetics of wires should be paramount. To call Diane a ‘breeder’ undermines the highest level of care and commitment she provides for her dogs and the pups, not to mention her unwavering support for the Leib ‘family’ of owners (and fantastic Facebook Leiborschy group page to keep us all connected). There are breeders and then there is Diane. She is a breeder with integrity and her commitment extends not just to individual dogs but to the HWV breed and as such is an advocate for the breed, as are her dogs. Diane will remain our first choice of breeder for as long as she chooses to continue to breed wires.
We have recently been joined by our third Leiborschy wire, Noma, a delightful, confident, clever girl who has slotted into our lives perfectly. We really appreciated being able to follow Noma’s development and progress throughout mum Rena’s pregnancy until the time Noma joined us and it was lovely to visit the pups, see Diane and the dogs (including Noma’s dad, the stunning Ravasz) and eat Diane’s superb cakes on our visits from the Outer Hebrides. I can’t imagine another breeder being able to match Diane's care and commitment to raising well adjusted pups that experience the right level of enrichment at the right times during their early development – a stage so essential to set the pups on the right track to be balanced, healthy, happy adults in their new homes. From that point on, the rest is up to us, a responsibility shouldn’t be borne lightly.
Noma is now 6 months old and we have been working hard to maintain the bedrock of socialisation and training Diane provided for her. She continues to be outgoing, effervescent and fabulous, taking everything in her stride from gundog training (we are novices - she knows exactly what she’s doing!) to ringcraft classes. Diane continues to support us in these new endeavours and we are grateful for the wealth of experience she freely shares with us. We very much look forward to giving Noma the life she deserves, be it hunting on the hill or just chilling out on the couch with Darwin, and everything in between.
Thank you Diane for raising our wonderful wires, without which the last decade or so would not have been anywhere near as special for having them as part of our family.

“We have had the pleasure of being part of the Leiborschy Family for over 12 years. If you want a Hungarian Wire Haired Viszla, there are a number of breeders throughout the Country but if you are looking for a Hungarian Wire Haired Viszla plus advice and support for your dog throughout its lifetime and lots of interaction with other owners then Leiborschy may be just right for you.
Shaynee is the latest Leib addition to our family. She is a beautiful, confident and healthy puppy and yet again we are totally smitten. It is no coincidence that Leiborschy puppies go out into the world, so well equipped for the next stage in their life journey – it is Diane’s dedication and expertise that produces such well-adjusted, wonderful examples of the breed
Over the years, Diane has become a valued friend. We have never met a breeder who cares more about her dogs, her breeding and her owners and we are truly grateful for the day that we discovered Leiborschy.”

Over the past 50 years we have owned many beautiful dogs, mostly English Springers and Cocker Spaniels and when in March 2016 we lost our last Cocker Spaniel we decided to consider the Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla ~ a breed which had first aroused our interest in 2013 while attending a Championship Dog show.
Our research into the breed involved visiting many shows up and down the country looking to see which kennels were producing the dogs which appealed to us, talking to many owners, purchasing a number of books and spending hours researching on the internet
Our enquiries and recommendations led us to the Leiborschy website which contained a great deal of information and a head study and video of Leiborschy Yendah ~ and there was our idea of the perfect Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla!
Diane's desire for the very best homes for her puppies was obvious from the first time we spoke ~ which we found very reassuring
We found Diane, with the support of Paul, is keen to mentor her puppies owners for the whole of their dog's lives. She is always there for an owner without ever becoming intrusive.
We soon realised that to become a Leiborschy owner you need to work hard at learning about this wonderful breed and be determined to make your puppy's welfare your top priority!
We have found Diane to be a top breeder but also a top person and she has always been there for us and our puppy Heidi ~ and if anyone is fortunate enough to become a Leiborschy owner they will find that the family of dedicated "Leib" owners extends throughout the length & breadth of the country and that they are always be there to offer new family members help & advice.

Having had several Labradors in the past, all of which have had health issues of one type or another, we were keen to discover a breed which had a similar nature, ie loyal, fun loving, trainable, could compete in working trials but didn't have the health problems that we'd experienced in the past. We fell upon the HWV by chance and have been thanking our lucky stars ever since. We researched the breeders in our area as we thought that as we were new to the breed that there were bound to be issues we hadn't even thought of and it would be good if there was someone on hand to guide us, Diane has more than lived up to our expectations. From the first time we met both her and Paul it was obvious that their wealth of knowledge was formidable and that they weren't just in it for the money, unfortunately there are some unscrupulous breeders out there. Their love of the breed is borne out by the fact they still seem to be in touch with most of the people who have been lucky enough to own one of their puppies, and they are always available when needed with support and advice. We feel that not only are we owners of an amazing Leiborschy puppy who we have high hopes for in the future but are delighted to have become members of the wider family to share our experiences with.

Having recently lost our first wire haired vizsla and wanting to have another wire, we approached Diane and Paul having discovered a litter was being planned. Our first visit to them was to find out if we would be suitable ‘parents’ to one of the puppies. Our visit was a pleasure, a little nerve racking, but we were made very welcome by Diane and Paul and their dogs and found our visit very informative. Diane has a wealth of information that she is happy to share and we were delighted to be approved as prospective parents. Our next visit was a few weeks after the puppies had arrived but we felt we already knew them from the regular Facebook posts and photos that Diane supplied. We really felt we had joined a family as the other ‘parents’ and previous litter owners shared regular updates on Facebook. When we collected our puppy Diane and Paul supplied a fabulous ‘puppy pack’ with lots of information to help us look after our puppy for those vital first few weeks. Diane has also been available on the telephone whenever needed to help and advise with any questions, nothing is too silly to ask and she is always so supportive and knowledgeable. Our puppy is now approaching 4 months and has been an absolute delight, she settled with us so quickly. Diane and Paul put a great deal of effort into ensuring their puppies have been exposed to as many experiences and noises as possible and we have certainly found Gertie to be confident, happy and healthy and completely unperturbed by tractors, sirens, crowds, noisy children, traffic, wheelchairs etc etc. Loving those Leibs and looking forward to meeting up with the Leib family at the next get-together, Helen, Anton and Gertie.

Having been involved with dogs for over 30 years and in
particular owning and showing Dobermanns, we decided that it was time to take a
new direction with a view to owning a different breed.
After undertaking extensive research we decided that a Wire maybe the breed for
us. We had admired them for a long while at shows but didn't really have the
time to take the interest further. During the research we stumbled upon the Leib
website and kept returning to it time and time again, we were drawn to the
comments of the Lieb owners and the in depth information provided, we also loved
the look of the dogs!
Having lost our last much loved Dobe we decided that we would pursue our
curiosity of the Wire, hence we contacted Diane and Paul and after email
exchanges and phone calls we arranged a visit to Leib HQ. The moment that we
walked in we were captivated by their family of lovely dogs and after coffee,
cake and a couple of hours of chatting we made our way home, having already
decided that the Wire was the breed for us, we just hoped that we had met all of
the criteria for the selection process.
As soon as we were approved as suitable prospective parents we were put on the
PIW list for a Choni puppy.
What a wonderful journey we have been on ever since! We were kept informed
during the pregnancy and the whelping with photographs and news from the moment
the Sixpences were born through each stage of their development until the day
arrived for us to pick up our little Sixpence (Frieda)
Taking our little one home was so emotional for Diane and Paul, I think we were
all crying as we loaded the car up with food and bedding that Diane had kindly
organised a bulk order for. We were given a beautiful baby bag full of lovely
items for Frieda together with our puppy pack ( essential reading and is
permanently on the kitchen worktop) which includes a wealth of information and
advice, mementoes from her first few weeks of life, tools for development (CD
sounds for life), a disc of photographs etc.
Frieda is now 4 months old and doing very well, she is a confident, well
rounded, fun loving pup, she loves everybody and everybody loves her. This is
all contributed to the excellent start she has had during her first 8 weeks of
life and the unending support from Diane and Paul ( reminders to worm, when it
is time to reduce the number of meals etc.) they are always there for a chat, an
email exchange or for compliments on the Leib Family Facebook Group ( and what a
great group it is).
We cannot thank Diane and Paul enough for entrusting us with one of their
precious puppies, we feel honoured and Proud to be part of the family. We are
just so grateful that we stumbled upon the website! "

When we lost our much loved 14 year old GWP in late 2013 little did we know what lay ahead for us in our attempt to find another dog.
We decided that HWV were for us and began our research. We learned about the importance of breeding stock health checks for HD and HUU (the latter was new to us). On a professional basis Keith has dealt with many breeders, some of whom did not impress him with their approach. When we contacted Diane we were immediately impressed. It transpired that she had once lived in this part of Cumbria, a good start. She welcomed our questions and queries. We agreed to make a visit to Leiborschy HQ to see the set up.
All went well and our roller coaster ride began. The initial planned mating was unsuccessful which was unfortunate but we decided to wait for Lincoln and Griet's litter. We were devastated to hear that Griet had lost her life after producing her litter of Expectations. Along came surrogate mum Tia. This time must have been so difficult for Diane and Paul to deal with. If it hadn't been for the help so freely offered by good friends, the outcome for the litter could have been so different.
We travelled to HQ again to choose our puppy. We felt as if we know each of the puppies because, despite being so busy, Diane had sent weekly update photos of the litter.
Our choice was not easy but we decided on a male and named him Induna. Three weeks later we collected him and set off on the three and a half hour journey back to Cumbria, armed with the best puppy pack we have ever seen as well as detailed feeding information. Induna was a shooting star. He was handsome, friendly, bright and calm. He brightened our world for five short weeks, sadly he became ill and needed surgery, which he never survived. This was a terrible time for us. Diane and Paul, as well as other owners that we had never met gave us both a great deal of support. This was greatly appreciated.
We were determined to continue our quest for a Leiborschy puppy. We made further enquiries with Diane about future planned litters. We were shocked to hear that she still had Induna's litter brother who was available. After less than a day's discussion, we travelled south again and collected Jabu. His name is a Zulu male name meaning “rejoice”, quite fitting we thought. This was an emotional time for us all. But of course Jabu was blissfully unaware of this of course and we were soon fully occupied settling him into his new home.
Words cannot describe what we both feel. Jabu is everything that we wanted from a new puppy. Diane described him as “kind”. He is much more than that. He's gentle, clever, calm, playful, funny, cheeky, affectionate and he loves to interact with us all, especially in his training.
This breed is very special. In our opinion, they are not for everyone. They are sensitive so need to be allowed to make choices when they interact with strangers as well as their day to day lives. Raised voices or punitive measures would simply make them shut down.
We are now proud to be part of the Leiborschy family. We are also thankful to our new friends, Diane and Paul for their help and support and understanding.

"We have known Diane for well over a decade now and Lola is the third Leiborschy dog that we have had the pleasure of welcoming into our home.
Leiborschy dogs are loving, well socialised and an exceptional example of the breed and Diane is as experienced and knowledgeable a breeder as you could hope to find. She cares deeply about her puppies both before they go to their new homes and afterwards. She is careful to choose the right owners and encourages them to keep in touch and is always happy to give advice when requested.
Diane organises get-togethers for the dogs and their humans in the form of training days or Vizsla days out. These are very popular and it is great to meet and get to know the other owners.
Through our Leiborschy journey we have gained so much more that we could ever have imagined, in the form of three beautiful dogs, a dear friend and a whole Leiborschy family who are happy to share photos, knowledge, experiences and laughter.

First a quick line on how we found Diane and Leiborschy..... We contacted Diane 5 years ago when considering another dog after we saw Crufts Friends for Life winner Leiborschy Yepa on TV and became instantly smitten with the look and manner of the breed. We'd been researching our next dog for a while and considered a smooth Vizsla unaware that the Wire coat existed, our attention quickly turned to the HWV, much web browsing later and every aspect of the breed looked perfect for us.
We looked into many breeders, carefully perusing their web sites thinking about a puppy, we agreed that Leiborschy was THE breeder at the top of our list and the one to contact first. On our initial contact with Diane, we found she had no planned litters at the time but she made the effort to put us in touch with another breeder so..... along came Kipper.
When the time was right for another dog, companion for us and mate for Kipper, we were 100% determined that he would be a Wire and a Leiborschy Wire, so made contact again. From this point, the communication with Diane has been and still is first class, communication with your chosen breeder, we now realise thanks to Diane, is one of the most important aspects of responsible dog ownership, nothing is left to chance, Diane will make sure of that!!
So after several emails and phone calls we were invited to
Leiborschy HQ to meet Diane and the resident Leiborschy wires. When we arrived
we were warmly welcomed in to what is definitely the home of a family breeder
who clearly loves all of her dogs. Our visit was very informal and we got to
know Diane and Paul and the wires, at no point did we feel we were being
interviewed 1but looking back we think Diane and the wires were getting
the measure of us Herberts from far away. Diane explained her planned litters
for the future and that we may be put onto a waiting list at some point. When we
found out we were put onto the waiting list for the Mallard / Griet litter we
were over the moon. From that point on we were informed every step of the way of
every occurrence right up to the births,
then weekly photos and reports on the puppies progress in the very capable hands
of Diane.
We have never been left wondering or uncertain about any aspect of the Leiborschy way and have always felt confident and reassured that they are a breeder of distinction and only the very best is good enough and that their full support would always be there. Another amazing aspect of becoming a Leiborschy parent is that contact with other Leiborschy parents is not only possible but actively encouraged by Diane which gives a brilliant source of information allowing some comparisons between siblings.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Leiborschy to anyone, but would suggest that you are not just "buying a puppy", with Leiborschy, you are being allowed into an extraordinary extended family of Wires, owners and of course Diane. So if you just want to buy a puppy perhaps look at other breeders or maybe a different breed, all Diane's Leibs, be them at home or away , young or old, are clearly very precious to her.
In our first Wire we found a breed for life, in Leiborschy we found a breeder for life.

"Leiborschy Maisie is the second HWHV we are fortunate enough to have from Diane Parry. Diane has an extraordinary ability to understand not only the breed but also the people who wish to own a puppy from the Leiborschy family. Her guidance, support and aftercare are ‘par excellence’ and we consider ourselves fortunate to experience the professionalism and friendship from this lady.

Where do we start ? - I suppose a short introduction about us and what made us find this wonderful breed and more importantly why Diane & Leiborschy ?
We are a family of 4 – myself - Kathy, Ian and our two boys James (11yrs) & Jack(6yrs). Our boys had grown up with Shadow, our previous dog – lab cross – who, unfortunately, left us 3-4 years ago. Both boys were heartbroken and didn’t want to replace her and I have to admit, after 16 years, neither did Ian or I. Fast forward a year or two and I was leaving my job to be at home more and missing the companionship of a four legged friend. I voiced my idea of getting a puppy and although there was some hesitation, as no one wanted to replace Shadow, we decided to ‘move forward’ and consider what breed. I wanted a gundog thou something a bit ‘special’, the boys didn’t really know what they wanted other than a friend and playmate and Ian wanted what we did!
A holiday in Devon …… out of the cottage window I saw a HWV playing in the neighbour’s garden, I showed the boys and they approved so I knocked on the door, the owners extolled his virtues and I decided that this was the breed for us.
Arriving home I was straight onto the internet and the research began. Where-ever I looked and whichever dogs we liked we kept coming back to Leiborschy. After several visits to the site, reading testimonials, looking at the pictures, agreeing wholeheartedly with her Ethos … I finally plucked up the courage to phone Diane for more information. I still remember Diane telling me she had a few minutes spare and then me coming off the phone some 30 minutes later. We arranged to visit Diane so that we could meet her and her dogs and more importantly she could meet us and see whether we were a suitable family for a ‘wire’- and more importantly a ‘Leib’.
The look on James’ face as he sat on the settee with Mallard & Nona for company was a picture and with Griet waiting for some attention too Ian & I talked with Diane and with some relief were listed in the ‘Silver Book’ as a ‘puppy in waiting’ family. And wait we did !!
This litter wasn’t called the ‘Eventuallies’ without reason, Yanah wasn’t to be rushed into anything ! The relief when she came into season, had a scan and then the big day when the pup’s were born. Then the worry as there were only 2 boys, we had initially wanted a boy, but they were taken so a change to our plan was needed. Many phone calls later as well as a couple of visits to see the ‘Leiblings’- this was a true test to Yanah’s temperament as my 2 boys very proudly sat in amongst the pups (3weeks old) whilst she kept a sleepy watchful eye, led to us eventually (with Diane’s guidance) choosing Madison to come home with us and join our family.
I really cannot speak highly enough of Diane. The hours of dedication and true grit that she put in to this litter, and the Leiborschy name all along, has led to us having one of the most laid back puppies I have ever met! Diane is always there on the end of a phone or e.mail if needed and hardly a day goes by without me popping onto the forum to see what’s happening in my new ‘family’.
You don’t just get a puppy – you get a new way of life and a new family.
Things have ‘moved forward’ - We have the smartest puppy in our puppy class, have already started HPR training and have thrown a bit of Ringcraft into the mix as well - and all this for our ‘companion’.
And what a companion she is - the boys wouldn’t be without her and she is my true ‘velcro’ dog – Where is she now ? Trying to fit 19kg of puppy onto my lap (-;
Thank you Diane for our Marvellous Madison

Well, we are all settled with our beautiful 17 week old puppy, Scout. It hasn't been an easy ride, but we didn't want or expect that….
We had researched breeds for a long time, having always had Weimaraners we were ready for a change of direction, and we came upon the HWV. After much asking around and further research we came upon Diane and Leiborschy. If we had wanted an easy picking we should have gone elsewhere! Diane gave us a mini-interview on the telephone and then agreed that we could come and visit, to meet the grown-up dogs. Several weeks later and a four hour journey by car we arrived at The Parry’s. We spent a good deal of time asking Diane about many aspects of HWV and she in turn asked us many questions. We knew from then on this was a ‘family venture’. This would not be a buy a pup and off we go situation. Which suited us perfectly, but may not suit anyone who wants to just disappear with their puppy!
After Diane felt reassured that we would make suitable owners to a HWV pup we were allowed to be put in the ‘silver book’ but only after we knew what we were letting ourselves in for ;-)
Several months later after full involvement via email and telephone we were finally allowed to go and choose our puppy – we valued Diane’s input here, as we had never had a HWV before she guided us as to which pup would be suitable for our family. We then only had a few weeks wait to go and pick her up. The story normally ends when you go back and pick your puppy up…. But not with a ‘Leib’. Diane (and the forum) have always been available to answer questions, offer support and advise and share experiences. She helped with buying the food for the puppy, the bedding, toilet training, reminders for worming – I could go on! We could have managed without her, as we always had to do without the breeder when we have bought previous dogs – but I know that Diane’s on-going support has brought us massive amounts of confidence and help with Scout. Scout is the most well adjusted, bright, puppy we have ever owned and I know it is that strong start that Diane gave her at the beginning that has stood us all in good stead. We stuck to the rules and boy did we benefit. We have a pup that is perfect for us and I like to think we are perfect for her!
So if you want to just buy a puppy and run, then maybe you won’t want to be part of the Leiborschy family, but if you want to truly belong and benefit from life-long help and support for your puppy then maybe think about making contact!

Following extensive research into HWVs I suddenly came across the You Tube videos of the Loanstars litter and was immediately besotted by these little creatures. I was further attracted by the very informative and well thought out Leiborschy website and so decided to contact Diane and Jonathan with regard to acquiring another HWV (we already had 2). When we eventually visited them, they were both extremely welcoming and so were their dogs - the Leiborschy dogs are part of the family, live in the house and are very friendly and playful – with the result that we were smitten from the start. Having discussed at length the reason for us wanting another puppy, we were advised to go home, think about it, and if we wanted to go ahead and be put on the puppy list, then we should e-mail Diane.
Of course, it didn’t take long for us to decide and we then became a ‘Puppy In Waiting’ (PIW) and were given access to the Leiborschy Forum. I have to say that this Forum is an absolutely brilliant and well utilised mine of information which is efficiently monitored by Diane who also contributes as she sees fit. It is clear from the Forum entries that the owners Diane and Jonathan have chosen for their puppies are amazing people, the love they have for their dogs clearly showing through their postings. These people are also very ready to help, provide tips or anything else to do with Wires, and are so welcoming that the prospective owner immediately feels that he/she has become an accepted member of the Leiborschy extended family. This in itself is a huge bonus and makes me feel so privileged to have been given the opportunity to become a member of it myself.
As soon as Yanah came into whelp, we PIWs were regularly informed of her progress and immediately the puppies were born, updates on theirs and their mum’s development were given several times a week along with weekly photographs. Words cannot really describe the wonderful sense of involvement that this provided, and needless to say, to me it was something I have never, ever experienced from a breeder before. The videos taken of the puppies in action in their nest were awe inspiring and a tear was never far from my eye when I played them over and over again.
Now we have Zak, Leiborschy Yazarek: our own wonderful and gorgeous little boy, and who constantly delights us with his antics. If I have a query, Diane is always there with an answer and her advice is given in a clear and confident manner. This, in itself, is a much admired and valuable quality as it can sometimes be a difficult process to raise a puppy without having appropriate back up from the breeder. Diane, I have to say, is outstanding in the love and dedication she gives to all her dogs, be it her own or to every other one that she has bred. To me, therefore, she surpasses all that one could normally expect from a breeder, and more.
All in all, we are so glad that we chose to approach Leiborschy and ecstatic that Leiborschy decided to choose us.
To Diane, our very best wishes

Why and how did we acquire a WH Viszla? We lost our beloved
Great Dane in September 2011, she was over ten so had had a good innings for
such a large dog. In the summer of that year I had come across a Viszla in a car
park and I inquired from the owner what sort of a dog she was as I had never
seen one before and thence I started my research on the breed and found a list
of breeders and to my surprise there was one only ten minutes drive away from us
in Norfolk where we live.
After Remy was put down I contacted Jane who was going to breed from her bitch
about January 2012, we put our name down for a puppy and kept in contact.
Our daughter Jess was leaving for Australia for a year on 10th January 2012 for
a year so as you can imagine was pretty upset when I got a phone call from Jane
the day before to say that Dolly wasn't going to have puppies this year but she
new of one near Doncaster that we may be able to have IF the breeder thought we
would be suitable owners. So it was with great trepidation that we made the trip
to Diane on 13th January to have a look at the then Brona knowing full well that
it was not going to be a case of just handing over the money and taking her
home, we had to liked by Diane as much as the puppy liking us!
Before the trip I got everything in place at home (just in case) and off we
went. Well for us it was love at first sight. We were so impressed with the set
up that Diane had, all her dogs were obviously healthy and happy and apart from
her family were her life. It was also apparent that Diane would not let her dogs
go to just anyone which to us was so important to us but would we make the
grade?
Well we must of as we took Ruby back with us that day and she has been an utter
delight, she is a happy, healthy puppy full of beans and eager to learn which is
a credit to Diane and the way she has given Ruby a wonderful start to her young
life. She has been an utter joy so far and has helped us in our sadness at Jess
leaving, when I feel a bit sad Ruby will come along and make me smile.
I can honestly say I think we had Ruby for a reason, she has had her first walk
on a local beach today and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of meeting lots of
dogs even another Viszla! and of course a lot of attention from other walkers.
Thankyou Diane for giving us this special dog called Ruby

We happened across the Leib Tribe just by pure lucky
chance....... We'd been researching the breed and had decided it was the breed
for us, but needed to learn more about line-breeding and out-crossing and the
philosophy behind them. We decided the best course of action would be to ask a
breeder we had not so far been in contact with (having spoken to three over the
phone and met up with one other), so Ian basically looked at the breeders list
and more or less stuck a pin in, which landed on Diane.....and here I am now
with the most beautiful, confident, sparky little HWV puppy curled up by my feet
As it turned out, the litter had been born 3 days before our phone call and
after establishing that Diane was the breeder for us, we had to ensure that she
would entrust us with one of her precious Leiblings. So off to N Lincolnshire we
went to meet the crowd. Diane was very generous with her time and let us get to
know the grown up dogs first, before leading us through to meet the litter (read
here: Diane spent quite a long time determining whether we were worthy of
meeting her pups and finally decided we were!!!).
To be absolutely honest the level of commitment Diane provided for those pups
was really astonishing..... correction... IS really astonishing - as she
continues to provide advice and support as necessary. I have no doubt that Indy
had the BEST start to her young life with such devoted attention and care. She
really is one very happy secure puppy,
In addition to this, joining the Leiborschy family is like joining a new
club..... I feel we are already getting to know other leib owners through the
forum, and we're looking forward to actually meeting everybody (and seeing all
the gorgeous "Eventuallies" again) at the ringcraft day in Feb.

Joining the Leib family …
The web site attracted me in the first instance and having plucked up courage to make contact and ask to come and meet the dogs, I was immediately welcomed into Diane and Jonathan’s house. I’m not daft and I knew I was being vetted and that actually served to make me feel really comfortable, knowing that this was not just a money making venture – these people really cared about their dogs and were very keen to ensure they went to appropriate homes.
A mating was imminent and puppies would be available in about 6 months … nothing was getting me out of the house until I knew my name was in the Silver Book!
Throughout the long wait for the arrival of the litter, I was kept informed and educated into all things Wire, through emails to Diane and contact through the Forum on the excellent web site.
After the arrival of the puppies I was welcomed to visit on numerous occasions and guided in my choice of puppy, according to what I wanted from the new arrival. On every occasion I was impressed by the care and attention given to raising a well socialised and well reared litter. Diane’s life was completely dedicated to this litter and it showed in the quality of environment they were in.
Since the splendid puppy arrived at my house, I have had constant support even over the most trivial things. I know that I can post questions on the forum and receive plenty of advice, but more importantly, I know I can go straight to Diane by phone or email, and receive sensible, no-nonsense advice from a highly respected breeder, who clearly has the interests of the dogs at heart.
There is no chance of handing over the cash and walking away with a puppy. Diane wants to be sure that dog and human are well matched and that everything is as it should be before the puppy leaves her. She ensured that I had a very high quality puppy information pack, that I had good quality food ready, worming solution ready, beds, leads, everything absolutely right and ready. She keeps in touch, sends reminders when vaccinations or wormings are due.
If I think of everything a breeder SHOULD be, how careful they should be about who is taking a puppy, how well brought up the puppies should be, how much follow up should be expected, Diane and Jonathan surpass all that.
Thank heavens I found them.

Dear Jonathan and Diane
Well here we are – with another Leiborschy puppy. Who knew that 3 years later we’d be back to do it all again?!! Actually I did, and I suspect you’d guessed that one wire wouldn’t be enough J
I just wanted to say another big thank you for our latest ‘experience’, from early discussions right through to choosing Syrus you’ve provided great advice, good hospitality and a healthy dash of common-sense. Syrus is such a delightful dog and we absolutely thrilled to have him.
Whilst I’m writing my thank you’s I also want to say how much we value your help and support for not only our Leiborschy dogs, Ylai and Syrus, but for our mongrel Finn too. Your timely question about an obstruction quite probably saved his life and there is no thank you big enough for that so ‘cheers – here’s to another 4 years of good dog advice and valued friendship’.
Much love from, Rebecca, Mel, Jack and Lily and the woofs (Finn, Ylai and Syrus)

Following his owners leg injury resulting in a leg brace for several weeks, Kupa's manners on a lead took a backward step. Kupa's owners sought advice to to overcome his "growing pains". We received this e mail out of the blue from the canine behaviourist who is working with them. Of course we ere delighted!

Kupa has been with us since 2nd October 2009 and what a joy it is to have him greet you every morning. He is developing into everything we’d hoped for, an affectionate dog and clever companion on our country walks.
Over the past couple of years we had been thinking long and hard about having an HWV puppy to join our family. Our research of breeders led us to the Leiborschy website. Most of our questions were answered there, however during our first contact with Diane and Jonathan we quickly realised that they had quite a few to ask us. It was still quite early in Yendah’s pregnancy and they encouraged us to visit before the litter was born.
During this initial meeting we discussed the characteristics of the HWV and whether this breed would be a good match for our lifestyle. We were given information about the pedigree and sire. It was a relaxed and enjoyable visit meeting the impressive Leiborschy family of HWV and wonderful mum-to-be Yendah whose quiet affectionate nature made up our minds there and then. We were very happy to know that at this stage we had been accepted onto the list of potential puppy adopters.
We visited a couple of times before we finally brought our puppy home. Each visit just confirmed the passion and dedication that Diane and Jonathan have for their dogs and puppies.
Diane kept us informed with emails and photos of Yendah’s progress, the birth of her pups and the early stages. At five weeks old we were able to handle the pups and observe them with mum. They were all perfect and beautiful, what a task to choose just one! Diane discussed their individual personalities, their care and health and our responsibilities. Thankfully Jonathan’s helpful assessment of us and puppy made the ideal match. Before we left that afternoon we were given tips and advice about preparing to bring our pup home, at last.
By the time we collected L. Kupa at eight weeks we had learned a good deal about the Leiborschy canine and human family, the lifelong support and advice from them also what was expected of us. Our new puppy was adorable, we knew immediately there would be no regrets even when, inevitably, we were called to walk the moonlit garden in the early hours! He was micro-chipped and a feeding/toilet training schedule had already been established. Over several cups of tea the contract and K.C. documentation was explained and we departed with a Leiborschy puppy pack. Kupa snuggled up to his ‘comfort square’ – a piece cut from fleece used in the litter bed – and slept almost all the way home in his box.
Diane and Jonathan carefully select the new owners of their puppies and set them up to succeed with every kind of help and support possible. We have kept in regular email contact for their excellent advice and made the occasional worried phone call for reassurance. The Leiborschy website forum for owners is a great source of information and the place to be if you just want to say how fabulous your own Leib puppy is without feeling shy about it!

Over the years we’ve always had dogs but earlier this year a “wire” was to be a new departure for us. A significant joy of the internet is that one can research almost anything and we, as most prospective dog owners really should, took advantage of the ability to narrow down the search for a breed which, on paper or screen, matches the lifestyle on offer to the dog as much to the humans. Our own experience was that only after a great deal of investigation were we ready to take the next step of looking for a breeder with the integrity and experience to take that next step with us as part of a relationship rather than merely undertake a simple transaction. The Leiborschy web-site is well designed and informative and helped in the initial research as did that of the Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Association – if we’d been looking for a no questions asked puppy farmed dog it was clear from the off that Leiborschy wasn’t the way to go. Obtaining a dog from Diane and Jonathan isn’t really a transaction at all; it’s more a negotiation whereby you get a wire if it’s right for you and right for the dog – money changes hands but our experience was that cash was very much secondary. Once you meet Diane and Jonathan and the adult dogs in their home you can expect a warm welcome and a bit of a friendly grilling to make sure you’re right for the dog and visa versa before you go on the waiting list. Within the banner of “HWV” there are some physical variables such as density of coat etc and, whilst there are no guarantees, the process helps to make sure there are no surprises when you take your puppy home for the first time. Another thing that helped is that before we took our puppy home we visited Diane and Jonathan a couple more times to see how the puppy was maturing in the weeks before he was ready to leave. Even for people seasoned and used to dogs taking a new puppy home can be a little worrying as well as exciting given that you and the puppy are starting out on a long relationship and the responsibility it entails is no small matter. Help is on hand in advance to prepare for the new relationship and guidance forthcoming on purchasing crates, food bedding etc and as Leiborschy’s lights fade in the rear view mirror a very comprehensive, professional and detailed “idiots guide” to the first few nights and weeks is provided together with the knowledge that help is just a phone call / email / forum entry away. The first few days with a puppy are of course happy but not without stresses. At 3am, when the dog will not go back to sleep and you’re stood in the garden in the icy rain with a torch and little idea what’s wrong, the knowledge that a next morning chat with Diane or Jonathan and some wire “lore” will get you back on track is priceless. The guidance just keeps on coming from food and weight-gain to training days and shared experiences across the litters; not only does one get guidance from Leiborschy but also a direct line is available from every owner of every past Leiborschy dog via the web-site and forum – it’s really difficult to see how it could be more comprehensive.

Our experience of looking at this breed has been a very positive
one. From hearing about them first through "Friends for Life". We had looked
extensively at the breed over the internet but found your site the most
informative, and easy to use. It is kept up to date and is concise.
From our initial phone conversation it was obvious the care that was taken to
choose owners for your pups. We feel very lucky to have been able to have
Archie. He is turning out to be what we were told he would be, a delightful and
intelligent companion.

10 weeks on.........where do we
start ? Yepa has now been with us an unbelievable 4 years on the 28th!! what a
whirlwind experience we've all had and too think I/ we have had the boy"
Pipster" Odon now 10 weeks. He has settled in so quickly and seems like he has
never not been here! we all love him soooo much a credit to both you and
Jonathan as breeders and friends.
You forget all too soon those early days of puppy hood and get a little rusty so
as before it is so nice to have those reminders and emails to fall back on from
you both and to know you are there!! and it is such a joy and comfort to see how
others are doing on the puppy pages!
Although a little behind the others the Pip has grown into a beautiful boy and a
temperament to match although Yepa doesnt always agree when he's nibbling her
ears!!!
We could not have wished for a more perfect addition to the family and as always
you were spot on with the help and advise in making our selection!
We look forward to meeting up with the others in the New Year!
Love to all at Christmas and Love and Best wishes for 2010

My first time of choosing a breed from start to finish. Many thanks to Diane who gave me this unique experience and to end with the most endearing pup I have ever had.
We had been interested in the HWV for about a year and finally decided in late summer to actively inquire about the breed. Diane spoke honestly and helpfully about all aspects of the breed and invited us to a ring craft day where we were able to have a hands on experience with the dogs and speak to lots of different owners. We were very taken with the breed and were accepted as a future owner of a Leiborschy puppy. Just a month ago we took home Leiborschy Hebe (litter name Lucy) and just Hebe to us who was born from Patties litter in November. Throughout Hebes time in the litter Diane and Jonathan gave us the most amazing experience with 24/7 web cam, photographs and constant updates, so we really were a part of the whole experience. Now that we've got her at home the puppy pack we were given is entirely comprehensive, no stone is left unturned. The backup support is phenomenal, we are never on our own and don't feel embarrassed to ask even the smallest of things. We are happy and ever growing confident owners because of this. We would just like to say a huge thank you to Diane and Johnathan for our wonderful puppy who is now a cherished member of our family and a great friend to Rufus and we will enjoy being part of the Leiborschy family too.
Dear Sir/Madam I have been looking at your web site and am in awe of your wires. I have a lovely little girl, Lottie, and would love to breed with her. Could I import a puppy or maybe some sperm? I think your dogs are beautiful. Val Fodor
Hi both, We lost our beautiful Wire-haired just before Christmas 2008. It was nice just to view your dogs photos. Will be looking for one shortly. Hope to see you at Crufts 2009, maybe you'll be involved with the "DISCOVER DOGS" section. Best regards, Steve & Marion Glazzard.
what a wonderful site!! We first started visiting you about 2 years ago for the superb photos. We got our lovely HWV a year ago from Lanspar who are closer to us, but I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the help your site gave us when trying to decide the right dog for us. We still come back regularly and direct friends here when they say 'you got a what?' Our boy is now 12 months old and is delightful. thanks again
hi , i currently show a gsp and have admired hwp from afar but whilst waiting for stakes classes to start @ gundog breeds of scotland i sat and watched them being judged and thats when i fell for them . What lovely temperaments and personalities,i will definately be around your ringside this season and hope to meet you .I'm loving the pictures of your new arrivals , a fab website.
Congratulations beautiful mum Patts and proud dad Steffan on such a gorgeous litter
Diane and Jonathan, Arek has turned two, and it's times like this that you come to reflect on what you have and how you got there. I waited a long time to bring a dog into my life; almost thirty years if I'm honest. What I have "ended up with" is born out of asking, listening, reading and a little bit of patience - I have an amazing dog, an amazing breeder, and a best friend: just what I wanted. Thanks for your continued support , assistance and friendship. Cheers loads, KevB.
Dear Diane and Jonathan I can´t find words to thank you for the kindness to let me come from Sweden to visit you and your great dogs- I had a great few days in your house, you let me in your family and I felt like you are trouly the pepole that we can read about on your homepage. You are the best breeders I´ve ever meet and your dogs do you proud... Again thank you for a lovely stay in your perfect home and for all the nice things we did..... I miss you!!! LOVE Nicole
Dianne & Johnathan, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Henry. Henry was truely a lovely boy, who was lucky to have found you. Henry lives on in his prodgeny & i hope in time that, that will give you comfort. Kindest regards Jo & Reba
Bright young Yannik has been with us for nearly four days now and has already provided much entertainment as well as being utterly adorable. We couldn't wish for a smarter or cuter dog :-) He's picking things up quickly and training him will be a delight. Thank you Diane and Jonathan, we are looking forward to Yannik maturing and are confident he'll be as fabulous as Wilfek and Lajka are
From the moment we as a family decided to get a HWV, Daine and Jonathons support and advice to us was outstanding, with Niamh being severly visually impaired Diane and Jonathon looked at what temperament of dog would suit her needs. Diane encouraged us to visit her regularly, to see how Niamh interacted with all her dogs. Niamh decided that she would like Lorne (Randall - luckily he wasnt already picked!)and Diane said that he would be the ideal puppy for her. Randall has settled in very well at our home and Niamh is delighted with him. We are very proud to be part of the Leiborschy family and we thank Diane and Jonathon for their help, advice and continued support.
Diane & Jonathan, We would just like to say a big thank you for all your help in the preparaion of the new arrival. Day 2 of Hugo being in his new home and he really is a happy bouncey puppy, healthy and full of life. We could not have asked for anything more. He is the perfect addition to our family and we can not wait to see all the puppies together again in October. We will practise the stacking daily, although it is definitely us that needs the practice more than Hugo. Thank you for welcoming us to the Leiborschy family, the wait was certainly worth it. Danielle & Jamie x

Just thought I'd say how honoured we are to
be chosen by you and Jonathan to be able to own a Yendah
puppy. The whole litter was absolutely
gorgeous, with lovely ,gentle temperaments and we wouldnt
have been able to choose without your help and guidance. Our
puppy, Yaara, has been with us just a week today, but we
couldn't love her more. Both Andrew and I would like to say
that after 2 not so good experiences choosing our other 2
dogs, that is was great to find such friendly breeders who
are so committed to their chosen breed and to taking time to
get to know the potential new
owners of their puppies, making sure the owner and puppy are
well suited. More importantly, it was nice to find breeders
also committed to the welfare
of their dogs and to their puppies throughout their whole
life, not just while they are living in their home. We are
so glad our friend Emily (who owns Leiborschy Ido of
Vorosarkany), put us in touch with them and I would just
like to say to anyone thinking of owning a dog from this
wonderful breed that you could not do any better than to get
in contact with Diane and Jonathan, you will not be
disappointed.
Finally To Diane and Jonathan....Thank you
so much for choosing us and for all the help, advice and
friendship you have given us and will give us in
the future. We will not let you down.
love and best wishes
Philly and Andrew
xx
Yet another deliciously gorgeous litter of Leiborschy Lovelies! Well done Princess Yendah and Captain Mallard, and congratulations to Diane and Jonathan. What a wonderful bunch! Love Susanne, Les and Kaleb
Beautiful dogs and a truly dedicated breeder. Thank you for taking so much time to share your knowledge with us.Much appreciated. Mike.
A very professional but easy to use website. With such a comprehensive range of archive photos it's really possible to see the development of these stunning dogs at home and in the show ring. It has fast become my main reference tool with daily visits! We're all looking forward to seeing you in April
i currently share life with four rescue cross-breeds, but visit crufts annually to see the wires. when i can do one justice, i would dearly love to have a pup. it's great to view your site and especially see your commitment to placing and keeping in touch with your puppies. the comments about ongoing support by your puppy owners are very reassuring. i am considering visiting the open on 22 april and joining the association, though it will be a while yet before i could give enough time to a pup, i want to find out more in the meantime. thanks for a great site
We would like to thank Diane & Jonathon in giving us the bundle of fun & most very presentable Hugo. He's handsome, clever & most of all a very welcome addition to our family.
Hi Diane and Jonathan I am still lurking and have just laughed till I cried at the recent photos of your latest litter in their new homes - especially the shots of the pups with their new grown up companions sleeping, Gorgeous! Philippa
I am looking into becoming a Wire haired Vizsla ower and have enjoyed looking at your site. Thank You
There is a saying, "Be careful what you wish for - it might come true"! Diane and Jonathan have given me just what I wished for (more, in fact, because my puppy is a dream come true), now the rest is up to me! They have come up trumps with a HWV puppy with a larger than life character, all the best attributes of this lovely breed and a super-charged engine for working. The litter's fabulous Mum "Nona" raised this wonderful, even litter (her third) of 12, "single handed" and looked fantastic afterwards. Diane is a totally dedicated perfectionist, who puts all her interest, love and energy into doing the best that it is possible to do for each and every one of their dogs, their puppies, existing and prospective Leiborschy owners and the breed as a whole, in her capacity as Chairperson of the Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Association. There is no limit to the amount of care, time and patience she gives everyone who comes to her for advice or, for those fortunate enough, as prospective owners. My trust in her and Jonathan was not misplaced and I thank them for all of this.
Well Iorys (aka Babar) has been with us for only 3 days and already he's joined the family (although the cats are reserving judgement). Diane and Jonathan - what can we say? Firstly, a MASSIVE thank you for all your time, advice, visits and support in helping us decide what was right for us (breed, dog v bitch etc). Secondly, congratulations on the breeding and rearing of 12 wonderful puppies (not to mention the exisiting Leiborschy clan!) We are so pleased with Iorys - he is so friendly, healthly and excited....! Can't wait to get on with the training and meet up with others at various events!
We are lucky enough to have our absolute favourite pup of christmas Leiborschy Eppie (Mary Ellen) home with us in Belfast. The fact that Eppie's epic journey across the Irish sea (a five hour car journey and a very choppy ferry ride) did not phase Miss Eppie one bit says much about the kind of attention and care a Leiborschy puppy receives. She is the most friendly, confident well-adjusted little girl! Diane and Jonathan ensured we had everything we needed for the big trip and indeed have been incredibly supportive through the whole "adoption" procedure. What a great start in life Leiborschy provides! We know that they are on the other end of the phone (or computer) should we need any advice in the future. We cannot thank you (or Nona, an incredible mother) enough...
Just found your site...what an absolutely beautiful gang of WHV's you have. Wishing you continued success at the shows!
Well done Granny! I can't wait to meet my new family members and have licks and wriggles with you soon. Elek xxx
Congratulations to Nona and Trapper on such wonderful sons and daughters - and to Diane and Jonathan their human nannies! Kaleb is delighted to be a new nephew!
congratulations cant wait to see them ,hope you sleep better tonight chris says chipping falls on boxing day ? anyway you should be very proud if only all puppies had such a great start to life See you soon Rita
Congratulations again Diane & Jonathan Happy days ahead! Love from Zala Penny & Bryan
SUPERDUPER Congrats!!! to all your lovely puppies!! they look great and Nona looks even better we wish you all the best and I´m looking forward to follow theme on our great site!!!! Many hugs and all the best to you all!!!! Nicole/Co
Congratulations, the pictures of all 12 and their proud mum is brilliant. We're sure that the slepless nights over the next few weeks will be worth it. This has got to be an early Christmas present and makes up for last years disappointment. Nona has produced two litters in one. Good Luck. Sharon, Bill , Ochre and Skarlat (the grandchildren)
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW ARRIVALS! They are gorgeous, all TWELVE of them lol. hope they are all well and Nona too, she makes such a proud mum! Take care all of you, x
Huge thanks, Diane, for a great day today, at the HWV Association Mock Field Trial Day. It took place in the most stunning weather for November, with friendly jolly company, on excellent ground with a good amount of assorted game, dogs all behaving themselves and doing well, helpful, patient guns and kind, constructive instruction. Everyone took something home - happy memories of a super day, fresh knowledge, new skills acquired, boosted confidence, game for the pot and even a certificate! If members are fortunate enough to be offered this sort of opportunity again, it should not be missed - there is no pressure, the instruction is tailored to each person's ability and even the chance to just walk round, and watch the dogs working is worth taking. Thanks to everyone involved, but particularly to you Diane. (p.s. I found the sloe gin bottle!).
Well done Mummy on winning Reserve Best of Breed at Leicestershire Gundog Society on 30 September. Love from your very proud son Yogi and new family.
Congratulations to Leiborschy on BOB, RBOB, BP and then BIS 4th. It has been an amazing week this week for Leiborschy also with the halfway results for top brood bitch! Well done to you all! Karen & Co

Hi Dianne, looked you up on line after meeting you briefly at Blackpool yesterday. Lovely site and some yummy puppy pictures to get all broody over ! I wish you continued sucess with your dogs in 2006 Karen
Hi, it was nice to notice Wery Good Wirehaired Vizsla sites. Good Luck to all you for the future, you have very good looking dogs. My site www.kenneli.net
My family and I visited Diane and Jonathan yesterday to meet them, their HWVs and of course the new puppies. What a caring, friendly, relaxed atmosphere the puppies are growing up in. We fell totally in love with all of the HWVs. They are a true reflection of the excellent care and dedication they receive from Diane and Jonathan. The attention given to this website alone is an indication of their committment to their dogs. Better breeders would be extremely hard to find.
Thank you for a wonderful day on Sunday we all enjoyed the training day and it was wonderful to see so many others and of course brothers and sisters too doing so well!!
Congratulations! You have puppies :) the pictures so far are absolutely gorgeous! What a proud mother Lajka makes, I cant wait to see them! Best wishes from my family and again congratulations to you and the beautiful Lajka. Speak soon and take care, Hannah x

Well done Lajka on your lovely new babies, can't wait to see them! We are very proud of you - and Brokk too of course! Lots of love from us in North Wales
I came in contact with Diane when we got our first bracco puppy, Ensemble Benelli, called Ben. His father is the very beuatiful Nico. It´s been hard to get info about the bracco breed in Sweden, but having contact with Diane has helped me alot. She´s got a uniqe passion for her dogs and it´s a joy to follow her dogs progress on this site. And winning at Crufts 2006 just shows that Leiborschy´s are great breeders. Of course being a bracco-owner Nico is my favorit. He is a fantastic dog and I can only hope that his son will get some of his greatness. Who wouldn´t want to own a dog like Nico. He seems to have a lovely caracter with big personallity. That´s something his son has inherited. Ben is a great dog with a big heart, having a beuatiful head and expression. I thank Diane a lot for helping me with all my questions and for all her advise. We are entering Finland worldwinner dog show in june and Diane has been helping a lot with preperations for Bens debute. Hopfully he will follow in his fathers footsteps.... For me Nico is a role-model fore the Braccobreed and looking at all their great looking "wires", who are all of very high quality. It´s not often you se a breeder that has so many correct and sound dogs. I´m of course planing a journey to England and I´m looking forward to meet all the Leiborschy´s in real life. Thanks for all your help!!!! Keep up the great work!!! Your kennelsite is great!!! Nicole/Ben Sweden
Well done to everyone involved in what must have been a very special day !! Perhaps one day I will grow up to make Yendah proud too!! "Yepa"
Congratulations to you all at Leiborschy on your well deserved win at Crufts Best wishes for the future Lesley and David Curtis
Diane and Jonathan congratulations on Best of Breed at Crufts no breeders deserve it more and thank you for making what was already an exciting and special day for us a truly memorable first visit to Crufts
Well done winning Best of Breed at Crufts 2006. Yendah looked super and was moving fabulously!
Just to say CONGRATULATIONS and well done on winning BOB at Crufts 2006!! It is well deserved and long awaited. I am very proud of our family pet Yendah and my mum Diane.
Well Done Diane and Yendah for winning Best of Breed at Crufts 2006.It was great to see someone who has given 10 years of love, care, attention and a lot of hard work making the breed what it is today getting the recognition they deserve. It couldn'tve happened to a nicer person. You thoroughly deserved it diane. Philly x
Congratulations to you and Yendah with Crufts 2006! All your dogs are beautiful and all deserve a place at Crufts but Yendah did so well getting Best Of Breed! Congratulations again on winning and for breeding such wonderful dogs and bitches! Hannah x
We are now the proud parents of Leiborschy Yaani, Honey, born 28th Dec 2005 and we waited a long time for her. The whole process has been flawless, we felt part of the daily changes with the litter and watched them all develop. It was pretty daunting taking Honey home but Diane was always happy to answer my questions and give some really sound advice. The Leiborschy experience has been better than I expected and I know that Diane and Jonathan will always be at the end of the phone should we need anything. They are passionate about their dogs and it is very refreshing.
Hi Diane & Jonathan are good friends of mine and i must say it is a pleasure to see a breeder who gives so much care with their attitude when rearing a litter of pups, if only everybody who bred dogs did the same. Im sure every one who has one of her pups will agree its wonderful treat to visit their home to see how much love and care goes into everything they do with their dogs, long may it continue.
I am the proud owner of Tezza the Bracco Italiano Diane and Jonathan own her Dad Nico! Diane helped me research the breed and gave me all the helpful and honest advice about the breed. I met both Emma (the breeder) and Diane when choosing the puppy and from the day we brought Tez home, she has been always on the end of the phone or on e-mail with help and advice about this wonderful breed. I went to visit Nico's AI litter with Diane in Sweden and learnt alot about the breed from the European perspective. Diane and Jonathan are really knowledgeable about all aspects of breeding, they are passionate about their wires and I would recommend them as reliable breeders and friends. Val
I recently met Diane through my friend Emily, who owns Leiborschy Ido of Vorosarkany and was lucky enough to be invited to meet their latest litter of puppies. I was impressed with Diane's knowledge and passion for wires, and could see that she not only cares for her own dogs but also for their puppies for the whole of their lives, no matter where they live. I've learnt a lot more about the breed from Diane herself and also from the fantastic website which shows each puppy's development through to adulthood. From my own personal experience, you could not wish to find a more kind, honest and trustworthy breeder than Leiborschy and anyone lucky enough to be given the chance to own one of their puppies should consider themselves deeply honoured.
I am the proud owner of Sidney the Bracco Italiano Diane and Jonathan own his Dad Nico from the day I got Sidney Diane has always been on the end of the phone or email with helpful advice and willing to answer any questiion no matter how trivial the website is lovely to be able to watch the rest of each litter grow I would have no hesitation recommending Diane and Jonathan as breeders with them you know your puppy will be loved from day one and come with ongoing support for the rest of its life all this and they only owned the stud dog to my puppy
There are Wirehaired Vizslas and then there are Leiborschy WHV The difference being that having a Leiborschy WHV is like buying a car with a full service history you not only know exactly what you are getting but you also get the most incredible support team in the form of Diane and Jonathan Ochre is a working dog but is also a brilliant pet companion and has had some success showing We are waiting for another puppy we know that it may be a long wait but we know that it will be worth it Leiborschy know how special the breed is and they want to keep it that way If you are lucky enough to have one of their puppies it becomes your responsibility to help keep it so special You will never be disappointed with your Leiborschy puppy
I am the extremely proud owner of Leiborschy Ido of Vorosarkany whos temperment and character is second to none The site shows only a small amount of how dedicated and committed Diane and Jonathan are to HWVs I love watching the progress of all of Idos relatives the unique set up that follows ALL the puppies is inspired Love and Leiborschy Wiggles from all at Vorosarkany
We are the enormously lucky owners of Ripley He continues to charm everyone he meets both human and canine This website is excellent and is an indication of how dedicated Diane and Jonathan are Anyone who is considering a wire couldnt find a breeder with more integrity Ripley says Hi
The website is absolutely fantastic It is so informative and up to date The double pictures of every single puppy from recent litters is superb Diane could not be more friendly patient and helpful Thank you
Thank you so much for our Elek he is proving to be quite the little character
This is a FANTASTIC site The facility to follow the progress of each puppy that Leiborschy has bred provides an amazing learning tool for anyone wishing to find out more about wires A brilliant way to find out loads of information on wires and if the site cannot help you Diane always will Some lovely pictures of some of the best examples of the breed Well done Diane and Jonathan
We are the very proud parents of Leiborschy Yepa born on 28th Dec 2005 Litter Having very little knowledge of the breed it was a breath of fresh air to have Diane and family to help us every step of the way with our decision and we feel very priveliged and indeed very lucky to be part of the wonderful Leiborschy family and look forward to many years of pleasure with our new Pup Yepa Many thanks to Diane and Family Adrian
